SIKKIM NATIONAL TRANSPORT (S.N.T)

DEMAND NO. 38

Allocation of Rs 210 lakhs provided to SNT Division of Transport Department for annual Plan 2001-2002 have been proposed to be utilised in the following manner:-

1. Direction & Administration                                                                                                            Rs 53.00 lakhs

This would be utilised for salaries, wages, travel expenses, office expenses, replacement of official overaged vehicles and renovation of office buildings.

2. Land & Building                                                                                                                                  Rs 75.00 lakhs

This amount would be utilised for major renovation of Siliguri Rest House, Fencing and construction of office depot at Matigara, special renovation of Central Traffic Workshop at Gangtok, construction of Drivers retiring room at Siliguri, complete renovation of passenger waiting shed roof and toilet at Siliguri and renovation of VIP lounge in the booking office of Siliguri.

3. Acquisition of fleet                                                                                                                              Rs 115.00 lakhs

This amount would be utilised to replace overaged commercial fleet and its augmentation,

4. Tools and Plants                                                                                                                              Rs 2.00 lakhs

This amount has been earmarked for procurement of fools required at Workshops.
