DEMAND NO. 32
The objective of the Labour Department is to ensure
that the labourers i.e. the workers are provided with satisfactory
working conditions. Welfare facilities, and safety measures enumerated
by the Labour Laws for the well being and also to bring about amicable
settlement of disputes between the workers and the managements so
as to create a favourable industrial climate for economic development
of the State in particular and the country in general.
The outlay for Annual Plan 2002-2003 for Labour is
Rs 20.00 lakhs which is being used to meet the Direction and Administration
charges of Salaries, Travelling Expenses, Office Expenses and rates
and taxes. The details have been provided in the abstract.
No Labour Welfare measures could be taken up in view
of resources constraints.
